In a sea of similar suites,BullGuard hopes to attract and retain customers by offering effectivebuilt-in help and a big chunk of online backup storage. BullGuardInternet Security 8.0 includes firewall, antivirus, antispywareprotection and a spam filter. It's not quite my idea of a full suite,as it lacks both parental control and private data protection, but noteveryone needs those features. Wondering if it's right for you? The60-day free trial includes all functions of the registered programincluding full access to help. The only difference is that thetrial-mode online backup storage area is tiny. If you don't want tospend the 60 days testing it yourself, however, you could always readthe rest of my review. Be warned: It's not a cheery tale.

BullGuard's buoyant red andsilver user interface offers an overview of system status. Clicking theDo it! button performs any action that's recommended to improvesecurity; you can also skip to the next recommended action. Colorfulbuttons along the side provide access to the various securitymodules—for example, to configure the spam filter or trigger a malwarescan.

Installation is quick, ablessing for someone like me who has to install the product ten times.On the other hand, the install process generates several worrisomemessages stating that "The software you are installing… has not passedWindows Logo Testing". My BullGuard contacts assure me that these don'trepresent any real danger and that BullGuard will have a fix in placeshortly. Still, it's not a particularly reassuring to find bugs likethis from the get-go.
